Heat Treatment - Ace Carbo Nitriders


Nitrocarburising - also known by the proprietary names Tenifer, Tufftride, and Melonite as well as ARCOR, is a range of proprietary case hardening processes that diffuse nitrogen and carbon into ferrous metals at sub-critical temperatures during a salt bath.

Plasma Nitriding - Plasma Nitriding is a surface-hardening heat treatment that introduces nitrogen atoms into the surface of steel to form nitrides. The purpose of nitriding is to increase the surface hardness of the steel and improve its wear and corrosion resistance properties

Polymer Quenching - Polymer quenching provides a hardening heat treatment for steel forgings. Polymer quenching can be utilized with excellent results on plain carbon and alloy steels that require a superior depth of hardness and uniform, repeatable mechanical properties.

Quench and Tempering - Quenching and tempering consists of a two-stage heat-treatment process. Stage one includes hardening, in which the steel is austenitized to approximately 900°C and then quickly cooled with water or oil. Stage two consists of tempering the material to obtain the desired material properties.
 
Stainless Steel Heat Treatment - General heat treating of stainless steels may involve quenching and tempering/aging applied to 400-series martensitic and age hardening SS. Treatment like that allows for hardening martensitic SS to the level of 60 HRc. The other SS cannot be hardened to such a high hardness level in a conventional way.
