Different Types of Heat Treatment ( Aluminum heat treatment services in Bangalore, Karnataka, Andhra pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra ))

Aluminum Heat Treatment - Ace Carbo Nitrider

Aluminum heat treatment

Different Types of Heat Treatment Services are

1. Carburising - Carburising is a heat treatment process in which the carbon is diffused into the iron or steel while the metal is heated, such as charcoal or carbon monoxide. They are commonly used in GEARS, SHAFTS, HYDRAULIC, and other moving parts used in Locomotives, Construction Machinery, Automobiles, Textile Machinery, etc.

2. Carbo Nitriding - Carbo Nitriding as the name itself says this heat treatment is the simultaneous diffusion of carbon and nitrogen, it is used to increase the surface hardness of metal to provide wear resistance. They are commonly used in SHEET METAL & SMALL PARTS used in Automobiles, Switch Gears, etc.

3. Nitriding - Nitriding is a heat treatment process in which the nitrogen diffuses into iron or steel components to create a case-hardened metal surface and to provide wear resistance. They are commonly used in RING GEARS, camshafts, CRANKSHAFT, CASTINGS, TOOL AND DIE parts used in Mining, Machine Tools, Transmission, and Steel Plant Equipments.

4. Nitro Carburising – Nitro Carburising is a diffusion of Nitrogen and carbon into steel to provide a hard and corrosion-resistant surface to the steel component. They are commonly used in Small Components like SHEET METAL PARTS & TURNED PARTS used in Automobiles and Switch Gears.

5. Hardening & Tempering – Hardening is a heat treatment process to improve the hardness of a mechanical property of steel components and Tempering is a process of heat treating, which is used to increase the toughness of iron-based alloys. They are commonly used in Structural load-bearing components like shafts, pins, dies and tools, axles, transmission components, gears, Hydraulic pistons, and Rollers used in construction machinery, oil & Gas, Automobile & steel plant equipment, etc.

6. Solutionizing - Solutionizing is a heat treatment to make soften the steel with austenitic steel and have an appropriate microstructure, sometimes after work hardening for ease of machining. They are commonly used in Shafts and structural parts used in process plants and pharma machinery.

7. Annealing - Annealing is a heat treatment used to relieve stress, reduce hardness and improve ductility by controlled heating and slow cooling of steel. They are commonly used wherever the component needs ductility and low hardness, before machining, etc.

8. Normalising - Normalising is done after casting or forging, it is done to improve the microstructure of the steel and to have a homogenous structure. They are commonly used mainly in castings and forged parts.

9. Stress Relieving - Stress Relieving is a heat treatment that is done to relieve stress by heating a metal to a predetermined temperature below its lower transformation temperature followed by cooling in air.  They are used in Fabricated structures, dies, and heat-treated parts.

10. Subzero - Components are subject to sub-zero treatment to improve their structure and hardness thereby rendering the component with higher strength, hardness, and dimensional stability. They are used in Mostly case hardened parts and some dies.

11. Straightening - Straightening is a treatment that is done after the heat treatment to correct any distortion occurring during heat treatment to the required levels of straightness. They are commonly used in Any heat-treated part requiring straightness within limits.

12. Sandblasting / Shotblasting - Sandblasting or Shotblasting is a treatment based on the customer's need to give the heat-treated parts a clean appearance free of heat treatment scales and foreign particles. These operations are outsourced.

13. Vibrofinishing - Vibro Finishing as the name itself says is done after heat treatment to give finishing and to remove burs, and deposits on the components and give the same afresh appearance. This operation is in-house.

14. Aluminum Heat Treatment - Aluminum Heat Treatment involves solutionizing and precipitation treatment to give the job desired strength and hardness properties. They are commonly used in Transmission Castings and Fan Casings used in locomotives and other products.

15. Quenching - Quenching is the rapid cooling of a workpiece in water, oil, or air to obtain certain material properties. A type of heat treating, quenching prevents undesired low-temperature processes, such as phase transformations, from occurring.
